Bellingham scores on debut as Madrid kick off season with win

Real Madrid kicked off the La Liga campaign with a 2-0 win against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday in a game which saw debutant, Jude Bellingham score and pick up the Man of the Match award.

Rodrygo found the back of the net in the 28th minute, followed by Bellingham’s debut goal from Alaba’s corner kick.

Madrid’s second-choice goalkeeper, Andriy Lunin, started in place of Thibaut Courtois, who is injured. Lunin performed well, but there are reports that Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga may join on loan.
